While not a miracle cure, Nicotine Replacement Therapy, in the form of the patch, gum, lozenge or other prescription therapies, can make the quitting process much easier.
Even though the nicotine patch, gum and lozenge are all available over the counter, it is advisable to check with your physician before using any quit smoking aid.
Warning: If, at any time, you feel symptoms of nicotine overdose such as nausea, vomiting, dizziness,
weakness and rapid heartbeat, stop use and see your doctor.

NOTE: The Medication Wizard is not currently configured to advise on the new medication, Chantix/Champix. In most cases, however, if you're cleared to use bupropion you can opt for Chantix/Champix, instead. As always, discuss this choice with your doctor.
